Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy and the Adult Literacy Programs of Toronto & York Region Celebrate International Literacy Day.


Opening by council fire Native Cultural Centre.


ASL interpretation for the event will be provided by the Deaf Literacy Initiative.


Music, dance, storytelling, poetry reading, children's tent with interactive activities and more.


"Today, at least 750 million young people and adults still lack basic literacy skills.  Two-thirds of them are women and 102 million of them are youth aged 15 to 24 (UIS, 2017)." UNESCO (https://en.unesco.org/) "Building peace in the minds of men and women."
